Q. What is the medium of instruction?
A. Lectures will be delivered in the English language.

Q. How do I get registered to Darul Uloom Online?
A. Click the "Apply Now" tab, fill out the registration form, and select the Submit button. This will lead you to a second page where you are able to select your desired courses. Once you have done this, the system will take you to the payment section.

Q. Is there anything else I have to do after registering?
A. No. Instead, you will be receiving a confirmation email from Darul Uloom Online and will receive your Student Log-In information a few days later.

 


Q. I logged into Darul Uloom Online as a student. What do I do next?
A. After logging in, you will see a customized student page with multiple options. Select the total number of credit hours you want and the courses you would like to take.

Q. What time will classes start?
A. Classes start at 6 PM in all time zones.

Q. Can I change my status from a full time student to a part time student during the semester?
A. Yes. But you only have until the end of the first week of classes to change your academic status.

Q. Do I have to finish every year in succession and uninterrupted?
A. Not necessarily. But, all students have to complete an entire course requirements before entering into the next level of advanced courses.

Q. Can I register for a semester and skip the following one?
A. Yes, you can skip a semester and register for it when those classes are offered again.

 


Q. Are classes audio-based or video-based?
A. All classes are video based. One will be able to watch and listen to their Instructors.

Q. What are the basic requirements for my computer to work well?
A. Students should have windows XP, Vista, or Mac.

Q. How fast should my internet be?
A. You must have a high speed internet or broadband connection.

Q. How can I ask a question to my instructor?
A. Questions are asked by clicking on the "Ask a question" tab on your classroom screen. Once approval has been given from the instructor, a question will can be fielded.

Q. What if I miss a class, how can I make-up the material covered in that class?
A. Each week, classes will be recorded, and open for access from a student's personal page. Students will be able to watch and listen to the complete presentation anytime throughout the week.

 


Q. How much do I pay if I am a part time student?
A. The tuition fee, regardless of your academic status (full time or part time), is the same for all students.

Q. I don't have a credit card. How do I pay for my tuition?
A. The option of a wire transfer is available. Please contact the Darul Uloom Online administration for more information on this method of pay.

 


Q. What is the scope of the Islamic Banking in day to day financial activities?

Q. Why should I choose a diploma program in Islamic Banking and Finance?
A. A diploma program helps students to learn the primary as well as most important concepts of the Islamic economics and finance. This program helps those students who do not have any acquaintance with Islamic finance but want to draft their career in this field.  

Q. If  I have a good understanding of Islamic terms especially used in Islamic Banking and Finance should I still go to diploma program or am I eligible directly for a postgraduate diploma?
A. You are still advised to join a diploma program because there are many certain terms and concepts used in conventional banking, which have to be analyzed for being incorporated in Islamic Banking or have to be abandoned, through diploma program you will be able to successfully analyze the difference between the terms in both Islamic and conventional banking systems.  

Q. If  I have a degree in Islamic Shariah am I eligible for a postgraduate diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance?
A. Please see the entry requirements of postgraduate diploma program.  

Q. I have some understanding of Islamic terms used for financial and economic purpose, similarly I have also known few things about the conventional banking and finance, what should I do?
A. You may choose directly a postgraduate diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance; also it may depend on your skills and course entry requirements if you are eligible for MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance.  

Q. I do not have any understanding of Islamic concepts of Banking and Finance but I am a veteran banker, should I go for a diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance?
A. No, you can directly choose either postgraduate diploma or MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance, but you may require some pre-requisite courses before you begin your major course.  

Q. What is a pre-requisite course?
A. Pre-requisite course will help the students to understand the basics of the Islamic Banking and Finance similarly basics of the conventional banking and finance.  

Q. Who requires a pre-requisite course?
A. Any student, who is joining a postgraduate diploma or MBA in Islamic Banking but does not have sound knowledge of Islamic concepts of Banking and finance or is unaware about the terms of Islamic finance. 

Q. How many subjects should a student take for meeting the requirement of pre-requisite courses?
A. Maximum two subjects may be required for a pre-requisite course.  

Q. What is a supervised project?
A. After completing or during his/her coursework in postgraduate diploma or MBA a student will require to submit a research project (of maximum 3000 words for postgraduate diploma and maximum 5000 words for MBA) under the supervision of a supervisor. The successful submission of this research project will pave the way for the student to obtain a degree in postgraduate diploma or MBA programs respectively.  

Q. What kind of the research a student will require?
A. The topic of the research project may vary. The topic of research will relate to the current trends of the Islamic Banking and Finance and may be selected with the mutual consents of the student and appointed supervisor.
